Congratulations to our students of South Miami Middle Community School, whose science manuscripts were selected for publishing on the Journal of Emerging Investigators! Operated by graduate students of the Department of Microbiology and Immunobiology at Harvard University, the Journal of Emerging Investigators provides middle and high school students with the opportunity to engage in inquiry-based science and have their findings published in a prestigious national journal

For the 2013-2014 school-year we are introducing the "iPrep Mathematic Academy" at South Miami Middle School. iPrepMath will be a new and innovative learning academy at SMMCS that will provide students with a technology-rich environment and opportunities for growth that are uniquely designed to meet each student’s needs. The iPrepMath Academy at South Miami Middle will be a state-of-the-art environment that provides each student with a laptop computer to facilitate 21st Century learning and promotes inquiry and creativity. Students will gain 21st century math skills to help them meet the needs and expectations of an ever changing culture and economic landscape.
