December 28, 1973, (which replaced the Endangered
Species Conservation Act of 1969) President Nixon stated

preservation than the rich array of animal life with
which our country has been blessed." |

US Fish and Wildlife Service Endangered Species Program
The Fish and Wildlife Service, in the Department of the
Interior, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA) Fisheries, in the Department of
Commerce, share responsibility for administration of the
